Re: Feedback on demo by Barbara
Oke, I try. I was at the demo on wednesday. It was very nice too look at. I was very enthousiastic too see Barbara leading the demo. I felt sorry for the one's on the demo that the riding-area was so heavy. I could see the horses have difficulty with, especialy sideways and backup. But anyway it was nice too look at. Sorry for my bad english writing!!

Hai allegro you're nog the only one. It was nice to meet Barbara. We talked a bit and I'm sorry for my poor english speaking too.
I was filming the demo so you can see it on video. You were very clear about what you were telling. It was a pitty that the rinding-area was zo heavy. So the circumstances were not optimal you all tried to make the best out of it and that why I also enjoyed the demo.

I try(!) it too. I agree with allegro. I think also it was very very nice to look at and it was very clear for the people that doesn't know anything about natural horsemanship (like my mother). And... Barbara has a beautifull icelandic horse!

Re: Feedback on demo by Barbara
hi barbera.
I think Eddy could learn a lot from you, for sure
I was there the first day, and i told you already what my opinion was about the demo. I think you are a very good teacher. I'm not sure that there will be many people who start with NH right now, but i hope they now know about the existence and think about that.
I think you were really clear about how horses learn and how you can teach horses naturally.
I really enjoyed watching your show. See you next year???

Re: Feedback on demo by Barbara
I give it a try too
I found it very interesting. I've read about the "parelli-way" on the internet and this was the first time i saw it in real life. It looked like you all had fun with your horses and it was good to see that people (children) who didn't know the Parelli-way could do it too. The explaining by the "exercises" was also very understandable and I've learned very much. After the demonstration I've decided to finally buy myself a Parelli-packet and I hope one day I can do with my horse what you did there with your horses.

Re: Feedback on demo by Barbara
I'm a bit late, but finally here's my opinion too.
I enjoyed being in the demoteam very much! I was also very happy with Atli; he was so cool and he did pretty much what I wanted, although I sometimes had to use higher fases as I have to at home. I think the demo's were pretty good, except for some details. I think that especially the riding part was sometimes a bit messy: for example the Follow the Leader game went very bad and in between we had to talk to each other sometimes, to say to each other what we were going to do. My boyfriend, who was in the audience, said that it wasn't always clear what we were doing and sometimes things went a bit slow. He liked the groundwork demo better.
I'd really like to give more demo's with Atli! We've had so much fun and I also learned a lot from it.
And I think Barbara is great with her beautiful Icelandic horse (whose name I can't remember...).
I've put a report and some pics of this day on my website: http://www.homepages.hetnet.nl/~schrijf ... e2004.html
Barbara, what did you think of it?

Re: Feedback on demo by Barbara
I didn't see this topic before, but ofcourse I would like to give my opinion too.
Like Marja said, I liked the groundwork demo better then the riding demo. If there would be a next time I prefer to do both things in one demonstration so I can prepair my horse better for the riding. It was a little bit to short now (for me!) so my riding felt terrible.
The groundwork demo was ok for me. We used the hole arena and your explanations were very clear. It must be difficult for you to speak a not native language, not knowing how many people really understand it. I think a lot of Dutch people speak english, but not really good. So it was ok that Eveline explained things somethimes.
Ofcourse half an houre is not really much, so you have to skip things. I think for the riding demo, it was hard to understand for the people.
Overall I think it was really ok! People were interested and liked it. I didn't have a really good feeling myself. We didnt have any space to 'practice' before the shows. I could not really 'wake up' my horse in the show... And the rest of the circumstances where terrible ofcours.. But we made something of it, even in this place! I mean, how would it look like next time, in a beatifull arena
